Welcome! I’m Patty Edge, an Australian pen and watercolour travel sketching artist and tutor, also known as The Sketching Doc.

I seem to spend an unreasonable amount of time trying new sketching and painting materials, watching videos, attending workshops and symposiums and working out what does and doesn’t help my own art. I share what I have learned, along with my sketches, the materials I use, articles and details of my online tutorials, workshops and international sketching retreats.

Alongside honest reviews and articles about workshops I’ve attended, you’ll find my gallery, YouTube videos and details of the workshops and sketching retreats I teach in Australia and overseas.

Hopefully, sharing what I have discovered along the way will save you some time- although I can’t promise it will save you from buying more art supplies!
