I’m Patty Edge, also known as The Sketching Doc — an Australian pen and watercolour artist, travel sketcher, urban sketcher and teacher based in Tasmania.
I’ve always been curious about places and rather inclined to say yes to adventures. Before sketching became such a big part of my life, I worked as a doctor in the UK, New Zealand and Australia. I served in the RAF, including time with search and rescue, and later worked with the Flying Doctors in Broken Hill, Australia before eventually specialising in obstetrics and gynaecology. Along the way there was also flying, paragliding, scuba diving, motorbikes and rather a lot of travel. These days, when I’m not sketching or teaching, I also spend time rescuing and caring for injured and orphaned wildlife.
