Travel sketching, teaching and a lifelong curiosity about places.

I’m Patty, a retired obstetrician and gynaecologist, travel sketcher and teacher based in Tasmania, Australia. I love capturing the character of streets, buildings and places I visit in pen and watercolour. In my teaching, I focus on why, not just the what and how, so that people can understand the decisions behind my sketches and apply those ideas to their own work and develop their own style. Away from my sketchbook I am also a wildlife rescuer and carer.
