Drawn from Life: Two Urban Sketchers

On Wednesday 26 August, I’ll be joining fellow Launceston Urban Sketcher Rennie Neasey-O’Connell for a special QVMAG Friends event at the Queen Victoria Museum in Inveresk.

Rennie and I have followed very different paths through our working lives — hers as a funeral director and mine as an obstetrician and gynaecologist — but we have both found our way to a similar place through drawing from life.

During this relaxed morning talk, we’ll share how urban sketching became part of our lives, the pleasure and calm we find in recording the world around us and some of the places our sketchbooks have taken us, both in Tasmania and further afield.
